Meet Charlie My Knitting Companion

Today in Adelaide it's been a bit chilly, so this makes for a great sock knitting day.  On a cold day, you will usually find me knitting unless I have to go out to work. It just seems right to knit more at this time of year, I do still knit in the summer time but I find I don't do as much.

Charlie my knitting companion likes to sit on the back of my chair and keep me company. He used to be my hubby's cat always sitting with him either on the arm of his chair or on him. He is in his senior years now so he does get a bit spoilt.

He's been a good cat mostly as he does leave my knitting alone, it's only been the odd occasion that he has played with my yarn. My knitting will be in the lounge room but once he gets it, it can end up in the dining room.

So do you have your pets around you keeping you company when you do your knitting or other craft work? Let me know.

Happy Knitting

  1. I love knitting socks, too. My dogs like to lay on the porch when I'm knitting. They are great company. They don't bother my yarn or knitting projects. Your cat is gorgeous!

  2. I am also a sock knitter and find they are ideal summer knitting as they are small and easy to hold. Myn feet HATE commercial socks.

    1. I find knitting socks is summer a bit of a challenge as it gets so hot here but this year I was thinking of making more anklet socks as they are much smaller and quicker to knit.

  7. Awww Charlie is adorable! And what a good boy for (mostly) leaving your yarn be. He sounds like excellent company. I like his colouring too. I got a puppy a few months ago. Geoffrey is his name. I just love him to bits. As long as all of my crafting materials are up high he is great to have around. However the moment anything lands on the floor he's all over it!

  8. I mostly quilt but enjoy knitting socks too. My 3 Chihuahuas are usually under foot or lap but I love them to pieces. I came from Rhonda's blog. Cheers from the states, Elaine

  9. Doesn't get more relaxing than knitting with a beautiful cat like Charlie by your side I'm sure. The extent of my knitting is dishcloths but there is potential. So many other projects too though. I love to cross stitch. Our beloved Samson is mostly outside but when inside he just lays on his blanket as long as he can see you.
    Have a great Sunday.

  10. Thank you and I know what you mean about it being so relaxing and about so many projects still to get done. I still want to get a couple more dishcloths done. I also have a pair of socks on my needles which I'm hoping to finish today but I think I maybe pushing that deadline.

    Enjoy your Sunday

  12. It's funny how they do that. Poor Charlie has been in such a deep sleep that he's actually fallen off a couple of times. Gave me such a fright.
