About Me

Hi, Sharyn here. I'm a mum of three young adults who loves to knit socks for my family. It always gives me great joy when I pass on a pair of socks to someone I love, knowing that I have made the socks with love.

I learned to knit when I was a child but my passion (obsession) with sock knitting came when I myself was a young adult travelling overseas. So this passion lead to another which of course is sock yarn, it can become quite addictive. I enjoyed collecting sock yarn, theirs nothing like having hand knitted socks in your favourite colours.

Then because of all this it started me on a new learning curve and that was to spin, dye and then knit yarn for my own socks. After this I went back to buying yarn but started to design my own socks. So you can see that you may not know anything about sock knitting but you never know where it will lead you and it's also great fun.

My other hobbies also include crocheting, cooking, recipe books, reading and I also enjoy knitting for charity. I also volunteer a couple day's a week at Meals On Wheels. This is a charity for the elderly who receive a 3 course meal.

So that's a bit about me but I also wanted to take this time to say this blog is all about helping new sock knitters and other sock knitters. Any suggestions about books or needles are all just my personal likes and I receive no commission as this is not what my blog is for.

I find with sock knitting it's all about giving something a go and you will soon find out whether you like it or not.
